Think Tank #1: Heidi Nagtegaal
Our first Think Tank was also the grand finale of our first Residency. Heidi Nagtegaal sat with a dozen other folks in the STAG Library (and in the Smoke RIngs) discussing the project, craft, feminism, modernism, Claus Oldenberg, labor, the burden of social engagement, sculpture as relational aesthetics and more. Heidi was going to introduce the Think Tank with unresolved questions relating to the Smoke Rings, but in her own words “it’s done, it’s cool, you wrapped it up man!” So, owing to the success of her STAG residency the conversation took a more free form turn into various impressions and questions about the Rings and Heidi’s practice in general.
