Free Art! | Saturday, November 27th | 12-7pm

On Saturday, November 27, from 12-7pm
FREE ART!
The STAG is inviting everyone to give art, to receive art & to free art. From noon to seven in the evening folks are encouraged to visit the STAG. Any works in the gallery that they like they can walk right up to it, take it off the wall, and bring it home. They’re encouraged to bring art to hang in exchange - their own art, art by other people or readymades and found objects. Publications, records, crafts and fashion are welcome as well.
The Free Art! show is being offered as a response to the Eastside Culture Crawl which will be bringing thousands of people to our neighborhood. As part of our response we have made a hand printed poster that will be posted around the neighborhood and available in limited quantities at the STAG during the show.
Please come and join us and experience the act of giving and receiving art.

Notes on the Poster:
This poster was made possible by a tiny-grant from Millefolium Editions.
The text of the first portion of the poster is an alteration of Bead and Puppet’s why CHEAP ART? manifesto. The rest of the text is written by Gabriel Saloman.
Most of the fonts used are culled from a project by Joseph Del Pesco called Black Market Type & Print Shop, where-in he created fonts out of the hand made text of various modern and contemporary artists. The texts used here include Chris Johansen, Harold Finster, Jasper Johns & Jean-Michel Basquiat.
